KUALA LUMPUR, 09 August 2022 – SK Magic Korea’s CEO, Yoon Yo-seop, announced on July 25, 2022, that the company has been recognized as No.1 in the water purifier category in the ‘2022 Premium Brand Index (KS-PBI)’ hosted by the Korea Standards Association for the second consecutive year. This accolade reaffirms SK Magic’s position as the leading ‘K-water purifier’ brand. The company also received three awards at the Energy Winner of the Year ceremony held at the Korea Press Center International Conference Hall, including ‘Energy Winner of the Year,’ the ‘Korean Environment Minister’s Award,’ and the Grand Prize in the ‘Carbon Neutral Winner Award.’ Additionally, SK Magic was acknowledged for its international proficiency in drinking water for the fourth consecutive year by the Environment Resources Association of America (ERA) on July 14, 2022.
SK Magic, renowned for its advanced technology in household appliances such as water purifiers, air purifiers, dishwashers, and bidets, maintains the No.1 spot in the South Korean water purifier market with its tankless technology and superior customer service. These efforts have earned recognition both domestically and globally. SK Magic was named the Best Library of Excellence for the fourth consecutive year in the international proficiency evaluation for drinking water conducted by the Environmental Resources Association of America (ERA).
As a leader in tankless technology, SK Magic’s Environmental Analysis Center participated in the drinking water evaluation and achieved the highest rating of ‘Satisfactory’ across 17 evaluation items, including heavy metals, anions, organic compounds, and general items, proving its world-class measurement and analysis capabilities for water quality testing.
The SK Magic Korea Environmental Analysis Center stated, “We are continuously researching cleanliness and freshness to ensure healthier and tastier water, allowing customers to drink confidently. We will strive to introduce world-class products and services as a leading ‘K-water purifier’ representing Korea.”
The Environmental Analysis Center, specializing in water and air quality technology, was established at the Hwaseong plant in 2019 as an accredited institution for drinking water quality tests designated by the Han River Basin Environment Office of the Ministry of Environment. With the aim of providing a comprehensive care solution for customers, the center conducts water quality and environmental hazardous substance analyses, as well as various hygiene-related technology and product development.
These efforts have garnered international recognition. In May last year, at the “2021 ITI International Food and Beverage Fair” hosted by the Belgian International Taste Institute (ITI), SK Magic’s water from the Rich ice water purifier and Hyper water purifier received the “Super Taste Award,” with an excellent evaluation of a ‘2 Star (★★)’ rating. The Hyper water purifier also received the CES Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) for its advanced UV technology that sterilizes the water purifier from harmful contaminants.
SK Magic has also made significant strides in the air purifier category with its All Clean air purifier, which won the Carbon Neutral Winner Award following last year’s Energy Winner Award. This air purifier is notable for its ability to wash the internal fan and discharge part with water, reducing power consumption and annual energy costs by up to 61%. It uses eco-friendly materials, minimizing the production of new plastics and reducing carbon emissions by 50%.
